Sarah Moore is an accomplished, prolific songwriter who has composed for Music Precedent, Strang Communications/Charisma Life Publishers, Integrity Music, The American Bible Society, Gospel Publishing House, and Radiant Music. Sarah enjoys “Pop” music. Her favorite artist is Rachael Lampa. When she can steal away for a few minutes, she loves to play the piano or go on garage sale expeditions finding unique treasures.
Maybe your children have been influenced by the songs she wrote to enhance the Mendez Foundation’s award-winning, nationally distributed elementary school curriculum titled, “Peaceable Place”. Her recent script and lyric revisions for Northstar Entertainment’s children’s television series, “The Reppies”, are now beginning to air on Trinity Broadcasting Network and The Inspirational Network.
Sarah composed 25 songs for The American Bible Society’s new children’s animated video series, “Kingsley’s Meadow.” She also wrote eight songs for “Jesus to the Rescue,” a Standard Publishing Co. VBS.
In addition to her writing, Sarah is a gifted vocalist. She is an integral part of the Central Florida recording community, serving as vocal contractor and director for Walt Disney World and a host of other clients. She earned screen credit as Music Performance Supervisor (third season) for Nickelodeon Studios’ highly acclaimed children’s series, “Allegra’s Window”, and has enjoyed multiple seasons as children’s chorus director for the “Barney and Friends” television show and for other projects including videos, “Barney’s World Tour,” the “Character Counts” video series and PBS’s new “Dooley and Pals” series. Sarah released a video tape titled, “Kids For Christ Club” which features her and five children leading 50 of their peers in a high-energy praise and worship session complete with hand and body motions. The video was created following many requests from churches that had seen Sarah perform with children at CharismaLife East and West Coast conferences.
- Q. What is one of your most memorable musical experiences?
- Sarah Moore: “For three years I led the music for a weekly ‘sidewalk Sunday school’ in a government housing project. The memory of the faces of those children as they sang about a Savior who loves them, is a constant inspiration to me!”
- Q. She recounts one of her most special songwriting experiences:
- Sarah Moore: “I gave a tape of some of my music to one of my friends for her two children. She called a few days later to say that she had found her daughter listening to the tape in her room with tears in her eyes. She said that she wanted to have Jesus in her heart like Miss Sarah. There is no greater compliment for a songwriter.”
- Q. What is your ultimate hope or aim in composing?
- Sarah Moore: “I seek to have no other aim than to glorify God. Work that glorifies Him may be used in many different applications...that is up to God. I know I can trust Him to use the music as He sees fit. I want to glorify God by being completely honest and dependable in my dealings with publishers/artists/etc... I want to glorify Him by creating excellent songs, rather than firing off things that ‘will do’.”
- Q. Share your heart about writing for kids.
- Sarah Moore: “Years ago, I was riding in a car with my sister. Her children were in the back of the car, listening to a tape. I heard my young niece singing along to a song about Jesus, and I thought that there couldn’t be any higher calling than to write songs that would inspire children to know God and to want to serve Him.”
